BELLEVILLE – A Marmora man has been charged with possession of cocaine after police found it in a car he was driving.

On Friday, Central Hastings OPP say, they stopped a vehicle on Highway 62 near North Shore Lane in Centre Hastings. While dealing with the fact that the driver had a suspended licence, they saw cocaine in the car, according to Const. Alana Deubel.

A 25-year-old man from Marmora was arrested and charged with possession of cocaine and driving with a suspended licence. He was jailed until a bail hearing Saturday.

A passenger in the car, a 27-year-old Marmora woman, was also charged with possession. She is to appear in court in February.
