  • July 21, 2011 at 12:04 pm

QNet News reporter Linda Horn hit the streets Thursday to get the word on how residents in the Quinte region were getting a handle – or not – on the heat.

Dorothy Gill Trenton resident- "I beat the heat by staying in an air-conditioned house. When I am outside I stay in the shade."
Jackie Foster from Trenton- I beat the heat by staying in the air conditioning. Drink a lot of water and also make sure my two kids are drinking lots of water.
Jim Tremblay, Edmonton resident - "I don't beat the heat. I enjoy it. We don't get this heat and humidity in Edmonton. I like it."
Paul and Cheryl Longevin Brighton residents - "We beat the heat by going to the beach. Staying in shady breezy areas. We drink lots of lemonade. We go to the cool mall and eat light foods such as cucumbers."
Petter Ferri, Trenton resident- "I don't run. I walk everywhere and stay in the shade. That is how I stay cool."
Sheena Jackson, Trenton resident - "I beat the heat by starting my A/C days before so I have no humidity in the house. My blinds are shut and everything is off."
