Fatal collision in Cobourg

BELLEVILLE – One person is dead after a collision in Cobourg early Wednesday morning.

The victim’s name is not being released because relatives are being notified, according to Cobourg Police.

The accident took place on Danforth Road East near Greer Road. A stretch of the road between Birchwood Trail and Greer Road was closed for a few hours following the accident, but was reopened around 6 a.m., police say.

Few details are currently available, but the investigation is ongoing and police are asking anyone with information to contact police at 905-
