PORT HOPE- One person is dead and another is seriously injured after a vehicle heading northbound on 7th Line struck two pedestrians just west of Woodvale School Road at around 8:00 a.m. Wednesday morning.

The Northumberland County Detachment of the OPP, as well as the Northumberland EMS and Port Hope Township Fire Department, responded to the collision. One pedestrian was pronounced dead on the scene while the other was airlifted to a trauma centre in Toronto to be treated for their injuries.

The 7th Line is closed between County Road 28 and Campbell Road with the collision is investigated by trained OPP officers.
