By Sam Normand

Loyalist College President Maureen Piercy has been reappointed to the Hastings Prince Edward Counties Health Unit.

Piercy will be serving her second three-year term on the Board of Health.

“I look forward to continuing the great work that is being done,” said Piercy. “With numerous important health services and programs throughout our region, the health unit is integral to each of us and to the health and well being of our community as a whole.”

Piercy’s term officially began in November 2011 and continues to November 2014.

“Community outreach is a very important feature of the college and certainly a hallmark of president Piercy’s interest in the community,” said Dianne Spencer, Executive Director of College Advancement & External Relations. “She’s very involved where she can be.”

The Hastings & Prince Edward Counties Health Unit serves Prince Edward County, Hastings County, Quinte West, and Belleville.
