Former political adviser Mark Stobbe has been found not guilty of second-degree murder in the death of his wife. Foreign diplomats say Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas has dropped a planned threat to dismantle his autonomy government to protest the deadlock in peace efforts with Israel. The Tories are widely expected to make deep spending cuts, change the eligibility age for certain pension benefits, and make public servants pay a greater share of their pensions.
