Live, interactive coverage of TVNM’s Sparkies 2013 today

  • March 19, 2013 at 8:48 am

by Shelby Wye and Megan Mattice

The Sparkies is an annual awards show, held to recognize the hard work of the TV and New Media (TVNM) students of all three years. There are 16 awards given out, varying from Best Overall Student to ones specific to the types of programs produced, such as Best Cooking Show Segment.

The TVNM students produce dozens of commercials, PSAs, films and webisodes each year, leading to a sense of stress by the end of the year. As Colby Porter, a third year TVNM student explains, the Sparkies is a great time to socialize, rehash the year and have some fun.

This year, the Sparkies is taking place at Occasions by the Bay, a banquet hall in Trenton. For $25, people can attend the Sparkies, and also receive a quality dinner.

For those who can’t make the location, Shelby Wye and Megan Mattice will be hosting a live event. Follow @QNetNews for all the updates, and feel free to tweet at us!

This will give everyone the opportunity to keep up with the nominees and the winners of each Sparkie. Come out and join the fun, and congratulate your friends and comment with your thoughts on their work over the year.

The event will run from noon to 2 p.m. this afternoon.
