An ad on 91X for the Shark Tank’s “Little Black Dress” has been taken off the airwaves, according to Chantel Johnston, Loyalist student government president.

The ad, that was intended to draw students towards the weekly pub night, consisted of phrases such as “Squeeze yourself into a little black dress” and “Does this dress make me look fat?”.

Johnston said students complained about the controversial ad. She told Qnet News that student government approves the ads before they air. It also has discretion to pull ads.

Johnston says she wasn’t involved in approving this particular one and it may have been overlooked in the approval process.

“If we personally feel that it is something that will not sit well with students or offend then we don’t want it to be on the air. However, this one did slip through.”

QNet’s Megan Mattice asked Loyalist students what they think of the ad.

What do you think of the ad? Let us know.
