Busy day for Belleville police

BELLEVILLE – Belleville Police responded to 48 calls in a 24-hour period, including two incidents involving scissors and a baseball bat.

Police received a call about a woman who was wielding a knife.

At 6:50 p.m., police arrested a 40-year-old Belleville woman for public intoxication. There were no injures, and the suspect was waving not a knife, but scissors.

Later on, at 9:30 p.m. police responded to a man being struck by a baseball bat on Pine Street. He was treated by emergency services at the scene. Police issued an arrest warrant for a 16-year-old Belleville youth.
