BELLLEVILLE – Belleville police charged a 35-year-old man with impaired driving and drug possession on Tuesday night.

They responded to a scene on Albert Street where a pick-up truck had struck a hydro pole. Witnesses told police the truck managed to reverse from the pole, however it then got stuck in a snowbank. The truck suffered significant front end damage.

The driver of the truck was arrested and charged with impaired driving, possession of cocaine over 80 mgs., and breach of probation.

He is expected to appear in court on Feb. 4.
