BELLEVILLE – A transport truck was caught speeding on Highway 401 late Tuesday night leading to a number of charges.

A Napanee OPP officer stopped the transport just west of the town. As a result of the traffic stop the 44-year-old Brighton driver is facing multiple charges including:

  • Driving under suspension
  • Speeding
  • Failing to maintain daily log
  • Driving a commercial motor vehicle without the required inspection
  • Failing to surrender commercial vehicle operator registration.

The transport, excluding the trailer, was impounded for seven days. The man had been driving the truck while his license was under suspension.
