BELLEVILLE – The St. Theresa Secondary School girls’ hockey Titans are heading to Sudbury Tuesday for the provincial championships.

The Belleville team won the Central Ontario Secondary School Athletics championship at the beginning of the month against the Cobourg West Vikings, with a score of 2-0. The team has won its past four consecutive COSSA championship games, which means this is the fourth year in a row it will be at the provincials.

Titans goalie Katie Rampp had a shutout in the game against Cobourg. That wasn’t the first time that Rampp had had a good tournament – last summer she competed in the World Selects Invitational U18 tournament in Sweden, and allowed only eight goals of 100 shots on net.

Scorers in the COSSA championship game were Hannah Scaletta and Hannah Healey.

St. Theresa’s is one of 16 teams are competing in the A/AA Division at this week’s Ontario Federation of School Athletic Associations tournament in Sudbury.

More details to come as the tournament unfolds.
