BELLEVILLE – A 21-year old Quinte West man has been charged with drug possession after OPP investigated an accident on Tuesday where a car ran into a ditch on Highway 62 in Prince Edward County.

Police arrived on the scene just before midnight and found 40 oxycodone pills during their investigation, according to a news release from the Prince Edward OPP.

The man was also arrested for impaired driving.

The vehicle has been impounded and has his driver’s licence suspended.

He was released from custody with the promise to appear in Picton court on March 9.
