Police say intoxicated man unsuccessful at switching seats with passenger

BELLEVILLE – Belleville police stopped a man from pulling a fast one on Monday night.

Police say that a vehicle ran a red light on Dundas Street East around 10:00 p.m. . 

Following the stop, police observed the man who was driving attempt to switch seats with a female passenger. The driver was identified and it was determined that he’d been drinking. 

The 43-year-old male driver was arrested and was charged with impaired driving and driving while under suspension. He is due to appear in court on January 7.
